Free Credit Check
Get a Free Copy of Your Credit Report
Under Federal law, and the laws of various states, you are entitled to receive one free copy of your credit report every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. You may order all three credit reports at the same time, or, you order from one now and the others later. Credit scores and credit information can vary between consumer credit reporting companies. By ordering all three at the same time, you can compare them and see all your information.

Disputing Discrepancies on Your Credit Report
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, both the consumer credit reporting company (Equifax, Experian or TransUnion) and the information provider (the party providing information about you to the consumer credit reporting company) are responsible for correcting inaccurate or incomplete information in your report. By making corrections on your credit report, it may be possible to raise your credit score. The Federal Trade Commission provides Facts for Consumers on how to dispute credit report errors and includes such information as credit bureau addresses and a sample letter.
